Fremont, Calif. — March 3, 2026 — Forma, the flexible benefits platform that makes it easy for employers to design and scale customizable spending accounts, today announced it has been named to the Forbes 2026 list of America's Best Startup Employers. This honor recognizes Forma as one of the top startup workplaces in the country, evaluated on the basis of company reputation, employee satisfaction, and organizational growth.
To create the annual ranking, Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to identify and assess privately-held U.S.-headquartered companies from an initial pool of more than 20,000 startups. To qualify for consideration, employers were required to have more than 50 employees, to have been founded between 2016 and 2023, and to operate as an independent company rather than a spinoff of a larger corporation. Each company was then evaluated across three primary dimensions:
- Company reputation: assessed through analysis of articles, blogs, and social media posts for signals around corporate culture, employee engagement, and company strategy.
- Employee satisfaction: measured through online reviews, comments, and company policies on compensation, benefits, flexibility, and career advancement.
- Growth: evaluated by examining headcount, job openings, and website traffic trends over a two-year period.
“This recognition of Forma is especially meaningful because it reflects the exceptional team and culture we've built around our industry-leading global lifestyle benefits platform," said Jason Fan, CEO and Co-founder of Forma. "At Forma we set out to hire people who challenge ideas, take real ownership of their work, and truly care about their teammates around them. When you get the culture right, the results follow. We prove that every day, and I believe we're still just getting started.”
Forma's culture is rooted in four core values that shape how the team works every day:
- We never settle. It's in Forma's DNA to always strive for impact, look for new opportunities, and never rest on past success. The team is constantly iterating on the business and on themselves.
- We raise each other's bar. Positive intent drives everything at Forma. We challenge ideas, not people — leaning into uncomfortable conversations that push the team to learn and grow.
- We've got you. Caring for others is a priority, not an afterthought. Forma fosters an environment where asking for help is expected, and where teammates show up for each other in the moments that matter.
- We own our work. Trust is foundational. Forma hires people it believes in, empowers them to work in the way that makes the most sense to them, and holds itself accountable to results.
The Forbes recognition comes on the heels of significant momentum for Forma, including the recent launch of its 2026 global lifestyle benefits benchmark report that studied Lifestyle Spending Account (LSA) design and utilization as well as other spending account data from 300 employers and nearly 1 million employees across 110+ countries.
